360-degree assessment is a method of systematically collecting opinions about an individual’s performance from a range of co-workers. It could include peers, direct reports, the boss, and the boss’s peers. It also sometimes includes feedback from people outside the organization, such as customers. The benefit of collecting data of this kind is that the person gains a more holistic perspective of their impact rather than one based on their own self-perception.
Where no recent 360 degree assessment data is available, we often recommend it forms the basis of our individual and team interventions.
